Connect AI to your
startups

Use the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to give AI assistants like Claude Desktop, Cursor, and Claude Code direct access to your ideas, projects, and profile on Founder Mode.

Quick start

Get connected in three steps.

1

Create your account

Sign up for Founder Mode to get access to the MCP server. Your account lets you manage ideas, projects, and profiles.

2

Add the server URL

Copy the MCP server URL and paste it into your AI tool's MCP settings. See the setup instructions below for your specific client.

3

Authorize access

When your AI tool connects, it will open your browser to authorize access via OAuth. No tokens or API keys required.

Troubleshooting

Common issues and how to fix them.

"Token not recognized" or 401 Unauthorized

Make sure your token starts with fmc_ and is copied in full. Tokens are shown only once — if you lost it, revoke it and create a new one.

"Connection refused" or timeout

Verify the URL is exactly https://api.foundermode.network/mcp with no trailing slash. Check that your internet connection is working.

Tools not appearing in the AI assistant

Restart the AI app after adding the configuration. Some apps require a full quit and relaunch, not just closing the window.

"Server disconnected" errors

Your token may have been revoked. Check your dashboard settings to verify the token is still active.

How do I use multiple tokens?

Create a separate token for each AI app you want to connect. This way you can revoke access for a single app without affecting others.

Experiencing another issue with setup?

You can paste these setup instructions into any AI assistant (like ChatGPT, Claude, or Cursor) and ask it to help you configure MCP. Since AI tools update frequently, these instructions might become outdated — your AI agent can often figure out the correct setup by reading the latest docs for your specific tool.
